Alessandro Baudo: "To Militello to honor my father." The story of Pippo's "secret son."

Alessandro Baudo: "To Militello to honor my father." The story of Pippo's "secret son."

"I will be in church to say goodbye to my father, in his Militello. A special place to which he has always been tied by a deep and sincere affection. Years ago, my father took me there; at the time, my son Sean was a child who, through his grandfather's stories, became passionate about the wonders of his homeland. I have beautiful memories of it that I will always carry with me." These are the words of Alessandro Baudo , recently arrived from Australia, to attend the funeral of his father Pippo Baudo today.

"The sad news reached me while I was in Australia, where I live. I had just left Melbourne to visit my son Sean and his grandchildren who live in Brisbane. I regret that my father was not able to meet his two youngest grandchildren," he added.

"We saw each other very little, but I always loved him. During these very sad days, I've been watching over and over an amateur video of us all together in Sicily, Dad lovingly hugging my little son Sean while he teaches him a few words in Italian," she concludes.

Who is Alessandro Baudo?

Alessandro has been dubbed "the rediscovered son." Alessandro Baudo, the eldest son of the host who passed away on Saturday, was born in 1962 to the relationship between Pippo and Mirella Adinolfi. He wasn't immediately recognized and for many years didn't know the truth about his origins. Alessandro grew up believing he was the son of Tullio Formosa, his mother's husband.

The recognition

Official recognition from Pippo Baudo, after a lengthy legal process, came only in 1996. But despite the trial, the relationship between father and son quickly stabilized, based on mutual affection. Alessandro himself has repeatedly said that in the national Pippo, he found a warm and ever-present father.

The last years

He lived in Australia for a long time. A musician, he recorded numerous albums and cultivated a passion for the blues. His son Sean was born in 1990, making Baudo a grandfather and later a great-grandfather. In recent years, Alessandro has returned to Italy frequently, choosing Terni as his hometown, precisely to be close to his father and accompany him in his daily life.
